During our first trip to Vegas last spring, we stayed at the Mirage. One of the first
Super hotels. This was quite a nice place. We'll probably stay here again.

Seems the casinos like to display feminine art. I won't show the one where Beth made me
put my face between this gal's breasts!

Hoover Dam: One of mankind's great feats of engineering. Impressive. (I should write for coffe table books, huh?)

It took us 2 hours to get here. Should be a 45 minute trip. Traffic sucked and
it was pretty damn hot. Well worth it though.

Beth loves animals. They seem to love her too.

Most of the big casinos have some sort of gimmick or show out front.
The Mirage has its volcano, the Excalibur has its dragon fight, Treasure Island has
its pirate duel. Bellagio has the best of them all: A huge fountain display that is
set to music. I could watch it all day. There are hundreds of water jets... more like
cannons, since that's what they sound like as they shoot water hundreds of feet in the air.

  More of the fountains.

During our second trip (in the fall), we stayed at the Luxor. It's a
more impressive hotel than the Mirage, but not as nice. While it was
interesting, we won't stay there again.

Again with the feminine, slightly erotic art. Who's to complain?

Here's where we did mostly of our gaming. I created a monster... Showed Beth how to
play craps, then I couldn't drag her away! I won $300 the first night, then played
using my winnings for the rest of the weekend. I ended up $100 in the black. We won't
mention how Beth did. But she had fun!

Here's 1/2 of the 1st night's winnings: $150 in quarters after hitting 2 Four of a kinds within 5 minutes!
This photo shows the payout: 600 quarters.

Can you imagine the power bill?

Another big casino. It takes forever to walk through these behemoths!

  The lion.

New York, New York. It has a roller coaster that you'll want to ride once. Only once.

Paris was awesome! It had a wide open interior with lighted, blue ceilings.
You know that feeling you get when you're near a mannequin that makes you feel like
you're next to a person? Well the feeling in here is like you are actually outside.

Not sure if this is Paris or Bellagio. Pretty damned ostentatious though!

I understand that this ceiling sculpture in the Bellagio is worth $15,000,000.

Oh, and you can't talk about Vegas without mentioning the buffets. Some were so so...
some were downright awesome. Luxor = lame. Mirage = excellent.
